There are many hotels in Sirmione from five stars to basic accommodation. Most of the hotels have a swimming pool and spa. But the best for me it was the hospitality and how friendly the people are. The quality of the hotels are high and the rating is correct. If they say that the hotel is five star, it is five star. The best thing is that some hotels do allow pets. This area is very popular and most of the hotels are full for the summer. We had a very good time in Lake Garda so many memories so much fun as a family. Holiday that always will remember. We will go back there with high expectation and we now that will not be disappointed.
If you like Italy, good food, good wine, romance, history, tradition, exploring, water sports, parks, cars, mountings, having good time with family, spa, or just relaxing by the pool, Lake Garda is the place for you.

The best place in Garda

For me the best place in Garda is Sirmione. This pearl embraces everything you may wish for a holiday or a journey. Ideal destination for a short break you will discover tradition, romance, history and all this with fantastic food and wine. Here you can appreciate the wine and local dishes while enjoying a romantic candlelit dinner. The old town is built in a very small area and the only entrance is through the castle gate. If you are driving,i recommend that you park the car outside the town. There are many car parks but not to many spaces free, this area is very popular. When you enter the town go inside the castle (is not free) and have a look of the fantastic view. On one side you can see the old town and on the other the lake, is very romantic. Walking through the old town is very beautiful and is traditional Italian. There are many restaurants and coffee shops and many ice cream shops. Take a short walk and there are many hotels and some of them are true spa hotels with real volcanic, natural hot water. This area is volcanic and that is why this is one of the most popular aria in Garda and all Italy. I recommend to take a small train lift that takes you all way to the very end of Sirmione it only cost one euro.Walking through the town you can see the true traditional Italian style buildings and there are some of the best hotels a true five star hotels for the rich and famous. Talking of the rich and famous there are many in this aria and if you like the famous sports cars like Ferrari there are many them. If you like old cars Sirmione is the place for you. This is where the famous 1000 Mile Race"Mille Miglia" starts. This race start on the 17th of May and 375 historic cars will parade in front of the castle. If you like old race cars this s the place to be.

Lake Garda holiday destination for all the family

Lake Garda it is truly a holiday destination for all the family. There is so much for adults but also there is so much to do for all the family. If you have a young children Garda -Land hotel is ideal for you. The hotel is very close to Garda land theme park. We had a fantastic time with our two young children but I must say my husband had a lot of fun. It was fantastic. Entry is not very expensive and they do very good family deals. The cheaper way is to stay in hotel is Pesciera that is ten minutes way from Garda land and it will cost half the price, and hire a car to get around. On the same area there is Sea life aquarium, movie land, zoo, water park and much more. One of the most popular attractions in Garda is "Monte Balbo". From the evocative medieval village of Malcesine, Monte Balbo is only ten min way in spectacular cable car, the only one in the world with fully-rotating cabin. That allows you to admire the beautiful view of Lake Garda. For a family of four it will cost twenty euro. There you can take a guided nature tour (free) so you can learn about the nature of Monte Balbo. On the top of the mounting there are restaurants bars meeting and entertainment structures providing high quality services. One more place to visit is "Parco Giardino Sicurta" where you can see a spectacular oasis of green area of over 600,000 sq. m not far from Lake Garda. The park was opened in 1617, and is one ofthe worlds most extraordinary gardens. It was fantastic and we had very good time as a family. It costs about twenty-five euro.

Lake Garda.What to expect

Tradition.People in Lake Garda aria are very nice and very welcoming. Very calm and well spoken, and very different from Italians from the south of Italy. The towns are very clean and, the buildings are traditional Italian style. There are many places to drink and eat. You find all traditional Italian restaurants, pizzerias, coffee shops were they make some of the best espresso and cappuccino i ever tasted and many ice cream chops(my favorite ) were you can find many different flavor ice cream, some of them i did not know existed. Prices are not very expensive and start from, for starter about five euros, main about ten euros, pizzas about eight euros and for ice cream about two euros. There are some areas that are more expensive that others like Verona. For best restaurant i recommend restaurant TRENTA in Padenghe, food was so good pastas are the best all homemade and all the ingredients are from their land. This restaurant is very popular with the locals, and all ways full. If you are planning to go there this is there number 0333 4435827.One best memory for me was driving back from Salo. The road is beautiful through the mountings, fantastic views and many tunnels, it was so romantic

How to get there

Lake Garda is not too far away. There are many airlines that go there and not very expensive.Flying from London Gatwick, flight time is about one hour. There are many airports in this part of Italy. Most popular airports are Verona, Milano, Bergamo and Brescia airport. Verona airport is the closest to Lake Garda about 30 minute driving. Roads in this part of Italy are good but if you are using motorways beware of the cost. Short drive on motorway about 20 minute it will cost about three euro. But the roads are well signed in both languages Italian and English. Make sure to drive with the speed limit. There are many speed cameras and not very visible.

AJBHolidays.Share your travel posts.: The beautiful beaches of Mykonos: The beautiful beaches of Mykonos For lovers of the beach, Mykonos offers a multitude of beaches that can be easily reached by bus or by boa...

Beautiful Greek island of Milos

Milos is an island of medium size, 150 square kilometers and seven urban centers in real cities and small towns. It is located in the southern part of the Western Cyclades islands and is known to most people as the place where it was found the statue of Venus, now in the Louvre museum in Paris known as the Venus de Milo.
Only recently, tourism has discovered Milos as a holiday destination with its natural beauty to a large extent due to its volcanic origins make it unique among all the Cyclades islands.
Milos offers more than seventy beaches, spas, and interesting archaeological sites. Lives on the coast of Milos monk seals, one of the most endangered marine species around the Mediterranean and with a little 'luck you can see it sailing between the coast and the islands surrounding Milos.
The city of Milos
The seven cities of the island are Adamas, Triovassalos, Pera, Trypiti, Plakes, Plaka, and Pollonia. Very interesting to visit the villages Mandrakia and Klima.

Adamas (or Adamantas) is the island's main port, and although the capital is Plaka, it is the vital center: it is not just the articulation of the major roads but also the home of most of the islands accommodations. Here you can visit the churches of Aghia Triada and Agios Halarambos and boat to boat trips. In July the city hosts the Milos Festival featuring traditional dances, gastronomic events and jazz concerts, one of the festival is the ancient greek theater near Trypiti.

Plaka, as we have said is the capital of Milos and certainly the most distinctive city: with its narrow streets and whitewashed houses overlooking the bay from the top of the hill where it was built on the ruins of the ancient town of Milos. Plaka is just 5 km from Adamas and south merges with Trypiti. In addition to the interesting Archaeological Museum and the Folklore Museum of Arts and here you can visit the French kastro built on an ancient Acropolis where you can enjoy magnificent views. Near Trypiti well worth visiting the catacombs of the first century, the only example in Greece, very suggestive and should not be missed.

Not far found Klima, a fishing village very characteristic white houses and colorful doors. Another nice destination for a trip is Pollonia, even the boats sail from here to the island of Kimolos.

The beaches of the island of Milos
The beaches of Milos offer an impressive natural beauty and variety: there's white sand and black sand, small pebbles or shells, or large rocks surrounded by too many colors. Even the waters of the sea surrounding Milos fade from blue to blue, to emerald green in a palette that will not fail to impress.
Most beaches are easily accessible by good roads from the pavement, but some can reach only by foot or by sea. The beaches can not miss in our opinion are the following:

Firopotamos: a very pretty little bay with fishermen's houses

Mandrakia: a little gem of small houses with shelters for fishing boats.

Sarakiniko: a moonscape rocks incredibly white and a small bay

Agios Konstantinos: a shelter for the boats that enter through narrow passages in the rock

Papafragas: a narrow sandy beach between high walls of rock

Pollonia: a nice beach surrounded by trees

Paliochori: 10 km. from Adamas beach this is perhaps the most interesting island, made of small pebbles and hot springs

Haghia Kiriaki: a long beach of sand and fragments of shells

Tzigrado: a beach of perlite, white as snow, plunges into a deep blue sea

Firiplaka: near Tsigrado wide sandy beach surrounded by colorful rocks

Provatas: beautiful beach of reddish sand

Gerontas: small black sand beach with arches and caves.

The beautiful beaches of Mykonos

The beautiful beaches of Mykonos
For lovers of the beach, Mykonos offers a multitude of beaches that can be easily reached by bus or by boat departing from various points of the island.
ORNOS: beautiful bay with fine sandy beach, with tavernas and bars. From here you can easily reach Mykonos with the bus and get to other beaches with boats.
Psarou: worldly sandy beach with diving center.
Platy Yialos: sandy beach with tavernas on the beach, small boats and little boats to reach the beaches of the island. Bus connections with the center.
Paranga: sandy beach, clear sea and untouched with Caribbean colors.
PARADISE: sandy beach with loud music and snack bar. Here are practiced water scooters and water skiing.
Superparadise: the most transgressive, reached by caiques or buses. Young and lively.
ELIA: one of the largest beaches on the island, with scenic rocky concretions.
Kalo Livadi: sandy beach lined with hotels.
AGRICULTURAL: expanse of sand in a dream landscape.
KALAFATIS: the famous white sand beach with a nice shady tamarisk vegetation.
AGHIUOS IOANNIS: renowned for its tranquility facing the island of Delos.
Ftelia: beautiful, long, sandy, beaten by the breath of the Meltemi, is a paradise for windsurfers.
PANORMOS: surrounded by red volcanic rocks is often deserted.
